Give thanks today for long-serving MTW missionaries who have given their lives to help fulfill the Great Commission.
Pray for the global Church’s response to refugees: That the church would embrace immigrants by extending hospitality and meeting basic needs; enfold them into community through friendship, language learning, education, and employment; and engage them with the gospel in Word and deed.
Pray for Afghanistan: For security for those vulnerable to violence, extortion, sickness/COVID, loss of vital necessities, lack of employment, and an absence of emotional support; stability for the economy, government, infrastructure, education, and social services; and spiritual awakening for those trapped in an ideology of fear and disillusionment.
Pray for Afghan refugees: Comfort for those in precarious situations, particularly those traveling through dangerous environments; consolation for those who have lost possessions, relationships, occupations, security, and innocence; connection with loved ones separated in the chaos; and connection with community in the countries where they settle.
Pray for Afghan believers: Protection for those being targeted by the Taliban, preservation of the church as members are scattered and hiding, perseverance for those persecuted for their faith, proclamation of the gospel with boldness and clarity as God opens doors.
Pray for the evacuation of Afghanistan: 1. Clear communication between governments, refugees, and Taliban, 2. Coordination of logistics in flights, healthcare, provisions, and paperwork 3. Care for military personnel and aid workers with 14–15-hour days
Please pray for Haitians, particularly those in southern Haiti, whose communities were devastated by the recent 7.2 magnitude earthquake.
Please pray that God would continue to work in the lives of refugee families we’ve built relationship with in Southeast Asia.
Pray that God would meet the needs of itinerating and long-serving missionaries, raising up their financial and prayer support.
