Ukraine Presbytery Celebrates First In-Person Gathering Since the War Began (VIDEO)
This May, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Ukraine’s Presbytery gathered for its first in-person presbytery meeting since the start of the war. Though the pastors and elders had kept in contact online, the day they were able to gather together again was a day of great celebration. Even so, it was not without danger. The night before the scheduled meeting, Russia launched its largest missile strike in months with 32 rockets launched at Kyiv in one night. Thankfully all were shot down.
The Ukrainian pastors and elders rejoiced as they were able to hug one another, pray together, eat together, and solve some challenges that they’d faced online. It was a great meaningful moment for all and also was a chance to stand up in defiance and say, “We’re not deterred.”
